Don't Make These Homecoming Dress Mistakes!

The homecoming party can be an exciting night to look forward to. But there are some things you need to prepare for when you want to make this event memorable and fun. So make sure not to commit the following mistakes:

Forgetting about the dress code
Especially when the event is held in the school, make sure to get a copy of the dress code so that you won't end up buying the trendiest apparel only to find out that you can't wear them. Check out the invitation or contact the school to be sure.

Not preparing for potential wardrobe disasters
A lot of bad things can happen during the party (but hopefully you won't get to experience them). These include drinks spilling on you and staining your dress, a small tear on the fabric that could rip your dress apart if you're not careful, or your private parts accidentally peeking out of your dress. You can prepare for these scenarios in many ways. For one, you can bring an extra jacket, sweater or even shawl that you can use in case you need to cover yourself. Also, you can get essential dress accessories such as white slips, fashion tapes and bra cups, which you can use with your dress to avoid those accidental showing of private body parts.

Searching for a dress too late
If you do this, you'll end up picking the first dress you'll find and it could be an expensive one or worse, you don't really like its design. Instead, make sure to scour the market for your dress several months before the event to give yourself enough time to compare items and decide on the best deals.

Not paying close attention to shoes
Don't just choose your shoes because it matches the design of your dress! When it comes to footwear, make sure they you are comfortable in them especially throughout the night of the party. When it comes to high heels, make sure that you practice on them several weeks before the event when you're not used to wearing them.

Make sure to do your best no to commit these mistakes and you can be sure of enjoying your homecoming dance.
